Nature Walks – November

“So come, get ready. Don’t delay! We’re on a nature trail today!”

~Maurice Pledger, from In The Forest

Winter is here!  Another month gone, it seems to have happened so fast!  Since the cold weather has hit, we haven’t been outside as much, although we have enjoyed each snowfall.  Here in Central New York, the weather has been back and forth between cold and snowy and above freezing this month.  Our garden held on until mid-November, we still had peas and Swiss chard and cabbages until the hard frost came and withered them away.

Here is a picture of our nature trail dusted in snow, very picturesque!

We also found some squirrel tracks that crossed from one side of the trail to the other.

This little lady bird beetle (aka ladybug) came inside to visit on a chilly day.  Elizabeth had to pick her up and carry her around for a while.  🙂

Lastly, we visited the Buffalo Zoo this month, as I wrote about in week 16 Reflections.  The pictures I took that day didn’t come out the best, but this lioness posed for me for a bit, then romped around with her companion in an entertaining way.
